Derric Lee

Lee brings his Russian built E-3, a plane that is capable of pulling more G-force than an F-16 fighter jet to the Muskegon Air Fair for the first time. Derric has awed audiences around the country with his daredevil maneuvers. He was born and raised into a military family which encouraged his interest in aviation at an early age. Derric has channeled his efforts into the Red Tail Foundation, Inc, a non-profit organization that targets at-risk youth who are interested in the field of aviation. This program offers a positive alternative to young people and upon completion of the exciting program; students can earn their pilot's license.

David Burdine
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Burdine went on to Navy Flight School; finished first in his class and selected the F-14 as his plane to fly. After receiving specialized training in Soviet Tactics, he became an instructor teaching military pilots how to engage and shoot down MiG's just like the one he will be flying in the show! The first MiG rolled off the assembly in 1952 and would eventually serve in the air forces of 40 countries with over 10,000 various models introduced. It has combat history in Vietnam, the Middle East and several African countries. Get ready…the MiG is fast, loud and exciting!

Thunder over Time…
Bombers of WWII

"Panchito"
B-25J MITCHELL BOMBER

The Disabled American Veterans Aviation Public Outreach program brings the original "Panchito", to the Air Show. Named after the feisty rooster from Disney's animated musical The Three Caballeros, was a bomber with the 396th Bomb Squadron, 41st Bomb Group, 7th Air Force, stationed in the Central Pacific. After several attacks on various Japanese strongholds in Southern Japan as well as Japanese help Eastern China, she was scheduled for another bombing run to Japan on the day the Japanese surrendered.

“Thunderbird”
B-17G Flying Fortress
Flew more missions than any other bomber. This aircraft served in every WW II combat zone, but is best known for daylight strategic bombing of German industrial targets.

B-24 Liberator
The B-24 Liberator was produced in greater quantities and flown in more theaters of war by the air forces of more countries than any other four engine bomber in World War II. 19,256 planes (in several versions) were produced by Consolidated Vultee, Ford Motor Company, Douglas Aircraft and North American Aircraft between the years of 1939 and 1945. Today there are only two flight-worthy B-24's in existence, and its history and role in WW II is only dimly recalled except by those who flew in them.

A-26 Invader
Sleek and fast, this two engine bomber was fast and deadly. Built during the later years of WWII, it was used during the Korean War and Vietnam.
